Annual General Meeting after almost 30
years with Ramsay in both management and
directorship positions. Pat commenced with
Ramsay Health Care in 1988 and served as
CEO of the Company from 1994 to 2008.
When he retires from the Board it will be just
short of a decade of service to the Board.
Pat has made an enormous contribution to
this Company, overseeing our successful
float 20 years ago and several transforming
acquisitions. We are most indebted to him
for his service.
Importantly, through the year, I am pleased
that the Company continued to enhance the
quality of our services by launching several
new initiatives like the ‘Speaking Up for
Safety’ programme, ‘The Ramsay Rule’ – a
family escalation of care programme – and
a programme to measure patient reported
outcomes. As a leading global healthcare
company, we are committed to setting the
benchmark in quality care. To this end, I
am pleased that the new Ramsay Hospital
Research Foundation, with funding from
the Paul Ramsay Foundation, is progressing
important research to improve patient
outcomes in Ramsay facilities.
While we continue to enhance the quality
and diversity of our services, the Board
