New Maternity Unit Opens at North West Private
A brand new 30 bed accommodation wing for maternity patients opens this week at North West Private Hospital, in the final stage of a redevelopment at this hospital that has spanned four years. North West's recently appointed CEO Chris Murphy said the new wing of 30 new rooms with private ensuites, is linked to the existing maternity ward and close to the Special Care Nursery. The hospital has also expanded its birthing suites as part of this development bringing the total number of birthing suites to five.
Floods
Ramsay Health Care has announced a $100,000 to the Queensland Premier's Disaster Relief Fund and has set up the ability for its 25,000 staff to donate to this fund through a workplace giving program. Ramsay's hospitals around the nation but also internationally have been conducting their own fundraising appeals. The Company has also donated an additional $300,000 (including a $150,000 personal donation from its Chairman, Paul Ramsay) to be allocated to Ramsay Health Care staff who have been directly affected by the floods.
Australia’s Private Hospitals – We do so much more!
This week the Australian Private Hospitals Association (APHA) Australia launches its inaugural Private Hospitals Week with the aim of raising awareness of the quality and timely healthcare delivered to the local community by private hospitals throughout the country. Private Hospitals Week is part of a national campaign showcasing the diversity of private hospitals and the services they provide to Australians.
French Acquisition for Ramsay
Ramsay Health Care Limited (“Ramsay”) finalised its acquisition of a 57% interest in leading French private hospital operator Groupe Proclif SAS (“Proclif”) after meeting the requisite regulatory approvals on 30 March 2010.
St George Private Hospital Opens New Wing
Ramsay Health Care opened two new floors of St George Private Hospital in Sydney, Australia on 1 March 2010 with a further 44 beds and an additional floor of consulting suites for specialists. Over the last 12 months St George Private Hospital has undergone a multimillion dollar redevelopment and expansion making it now one of the largest private hospitals in Sydney with 270 beds, more than 60 specialist consulting suites and a range of onsite health services.
