What is your job title?
I am a Nurse Manager.
At which Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care hospital do you work?
I work at Ara Damansara Medical Centre (ADMC), Malaysia.
For how long have you worked at Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care?
After my graduation from RSDH College in year 2002, I began my career as a Staff Nurse in Cardiac ward at Subang Jaya Medical Centre. In year 2007 I was promoted to the position of Assistant Nurse Manager for the Surgical Ward at SJMC. I was later given the opportunity to take up a position in then newly established hospital, Ara Damansara Medical Centre as a Nurse Manager in 2010.
What is your favorite thing about being a nurse?
Interaction with patients and my team members is what I love the most. I learn a lot of things from both my patients and my colleagues every day.
What are you passionate about?
The ability to help and to make a difference in a person’s life has always been my passion. As a nurse, I get to realize my childhood dream. As a nurse manager I meet and interact with various types of patients from different backgrounds. My team and I face different challenges every day, but the satisfaction of seeing our patients getting better and happy is the best feeling we could experience. My team gives me the encouragement and support for us all to strive for the better. I am proud to call myself a nurse.
What are your aspirations for the future?
Working in a ward has always been challenging especially when there are multiple activities going on at the same time and deadlines to meet. I wish to continuously improve the nursing processes and practices of the nurses’ base in a ward setting and encourage empowerment of nurses.
