What is your job title?

I am a Nurse Educator.

At which Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care hospital do you work?

I am with Ara Damansara Medical Centre (ADMC) in Malaysia.

For how long have you worked at Ramsay?

Started working in 1999. I was attached to ICU and NICU as a State Registered Nurse for 9 years. In 2008, I moved to Sime Darby College as a Clinical Instructor for 4 years. The College was later rebranded as Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare College. Since January 2012, I am a Nurse Educator for ADMC.

What is your favourite thing about being a nurse?

I love any opportunities to teach and share ideas and knowledge with my colleagues. We inspire, support, mentor and get the chance to discover and share some of the best parts of ourselves as human beings.

What are you passionate about?

Teaching is my passion. I believe education brings a positive impact to our nursing practice, because it enhances staff’s confidence and helps to improve in their critical thinking. I love teaching because there’s no better moment than hearing my co-workers say ‘Oh I See. Now I Get It’. When this happens, I know I have expanded someone’s knowledge by sharing some of my own.

What are your aspirations for the future?

Being an educator requires a lot of skills, as teaching is an art. I wish to continue to educate and inspire the next generation to build up their confidence to excel beyond the expectations by continuously learning. The main things that I really want to focus are leadership, critical thinking and interpersonal skills. By doing so, I hope I will make invaluable contributions to the future of nursing profession.
