About us

Who we are

The late Paul Ramsay AO established the Foundation in his name in 2006 and, after his death in 2014, left most of his estate to continue his philanthropy for generations to come.

At PRF we believe in a world where all people can live their best lives. Our purpose is to help end cycles of disadvantage in Australia by enabling equitable opportunity for people and communities to thrive.

As one of the largest philanthropic foundations in Australia, we take our social responsibility seriously and aim to make a lasting contribution to positive change.

How we work

Our approach

We invest in and partner with organisations and communities across Australia that focus on enabling people and places to thrive. We build the capability of organisations and the for-purpose sector and we aim to influence through collaboration and advocacy.

Partnerships to drive positive change

Ending cycles of disadvantage is an enormously complex challenge that cannot be solved alone, quickly, or with simple solutions. It’s why we collaborate with communities and organisations to collectively disrupt disadvantage, recognise and build on strengths, and enable opportunities for people and communities to thrive.

Since 2016, we have committed more than $1 billion in grant funding to more than 200 partners.
