Dr John Doulis

John leads Ramsay's technology and digital function, shaping strategy and capability across the group.

He has cross-functional executive experience across clinical practice, digital health, informatics, investment and academia, with a strong record of managing large portfolios, delivering change at scale and building high-performing teams.

An Australian-trained doctor, John holds a medical degree from Monash University and brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience in the United States and Australia.

Most recently, John was Vice President and Distinguished Architect in HCA Healthcare’s Digital Transformation and Innovation team, where he led major innovation programs and delivered frontline tools including a rostering and scheduling platform for 100,000 nurses, digital handover systems, ambient speech recognition tools and AI-driven clinical guidance.

Earlier in his career, John was Chief Information and Informatics Officer and Chief Operations Officer of the Informatics Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Assistant Vice-Chancellor Health Affairs at Vanderbilt University. He oversaw enterprise-wide informatics and IT services across education, research and clinical operations. Vanderbilt is well known to Ramsay through the accountability framework that underpins the Speak Up for Patient Safety program.

John has also held senior roles at First Data Bank (Hearst Health) as Senior Vice President, Clinical Solutions, and at MedCare Investment Funds as Chief Information and Informatics Officer (CIO). In these roles he led strategy, product innovation and digital health investments across a range of healthcare organisations.
