Group Chief Strategy Officer
Mr Olivier Chretien commenced with Ramsay Health Care on 28 May 2018 in the role of Group Chief Strategy Officer.
In this role, Olivier is responsible for strategic planning, business development, M&A and innovation, which includes mapping out and executing on mid to long term growth options for the Group. He is also in charge of the Australian Pharmacy business, whose future growth is largely acquisition-led.
Before joining Ramsay Health Care, Olivier spent twelve years with Wesfarmers, where he executed multiple organic and inorganic growth opportunities as well as divestments and business restructuring programmes. Over the past two years he was Managing Director, Business Development and Corporate Planning for the Group and a member of the divisional boards (Coles, Bunnings, Officeworks, Department stores and Industrials). Prior to this, he was the Managing Director of the Industrial and Safety division, leading a portfolio of industrial distribution businesses across Australia, New Zealand, China, Indonesia and the UK.
Olivier started his career in logistics and project management with engineering contractor Jacobs Serete in France, before becoming a management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in France and Australia for nine years, where he focused on healthcare as well as the airline and hotel industries.
He holds a MSc in engineering from Ecole Centrale de Paris, a MBA from Insead, and has also graduated from Harvard Business School (AMP) and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also a French Foreign Trade advisor.
